College Credit Plus & Dual Credit Options

College Credit Plus

Ohio’s College Credit Plus can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Taking a college course from a public college or university is free. That means no cost to the family of public and private school students for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs

For more information, visit OhioHigherEd.org/ccp.

Under the CCP umbrella, THS offers Dual Credit courses through both Hiram College and Kent State University:
These courses are taught during the school day at Twinsburg High School by our three certified college instructors Mr. Merriman, Ms. Drain and Mrs. Swinning.  These college level courses give students easy access to higher learning while earning both high school credit and college credit.  Students must follow the steps of applying to be a CCP student (see below) and meet the course prerequisites as well as the college entrance requirements in order to take these course options.

THS offers the following Dual Credit courses on our THS Campus:
  1. Financial Accounting (Hiram College)
  2. Honors Spanish IV: Intermediate Spanish 1 & Intermediate Spanish 2 (Kent State Main Campus)
  3. College Writing 1 & College Writing 2 (Kent State Main Campus)
