FAQ/Policies

1.  What are the hours of operation for the THS Media Center/Makerspace?

Monday - Friday: 8:05 a.m. - 3:05 p.m.

2.  When can students visit the THS Media Center/Makerspace?

Students may check out or return books before, after, and during school. They may also visit during Study Lab (see #6) and at lunch. Individuals or small groups coming in for research, computer use, or to check out books without a teacher must have a pass.

3.  How long may a student keep a book?

Regular circulation books are checked out for 2 weeks. Required Reading titles are checked out for 4 weeks. Books may be renewed, but must be brought in for this process.  

4.  How many books may a high school student check out?

Up to 4 items at a time.

5.  Why was a student told they could not check out a book?

Students with overdue books/magazines/fees may not check out new materials.

6.  Can a student visit the THS Media Center/Makerspace during their Study Lab?

2019-20 School Year: Yes, but students must first come to the Media Center/Makerspace prior to that day's Study Lab to check on computer availability. Students will be issued a pass in their AGENDA which is to be presented to the Study Lab teacher for attendance purposes.  Only a limited number of Media Center/Makerspace passes are issued for each block.  Students must remain in their Study Labs for the first 15 minutes of the Block.  Study Lab teachers must sign and time stamp the pass before students proceed to the Media Center/Makerspace.  Please see the attached document for "Study Lab Expectations in the THS Media Center/Makerspace".
