What is PBIS

  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a framework for teaching and supporting children in the development of appropriate behavior across different settings such as on the school bus, on the playground, in classrooms, and in the halls.
  • PBIS is an approach to supporting students to be successful in school.
  • PBIS was developed from research in the fields of behavior theory and effective instruction.
  • PBIS supports all students through multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) ranging from a school-wide system to a system for developing individualized plans for specific students.
  • PBIS focuses on the development and implementation of proactive procedures and practices to prevent problem behavior for all students and improve the school climate.

Tiger Pledge

Each morning, students begin the day by reciting the Tiger Pledge together:

I am…

  • Tiger Strong because I make good choices.

  • Tiger Strong because I respect myself and others.

  • Tiger Strong because I believe in myself and I am willing to learn and grow.

Tiger Expectations

And throughout the year the students learn how to meet the Tiger Expectations:
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
Be Safe

When a student is caught meeting the Tiger Expectations, they earn either a Tiger Ticket or a Tiger Dojo.
