History
George G. Dodge Intermediate School opened its doors in 1970. It initially opened as the Junior High and was named in honor of a much-loved custodian. The school itself was built in two phases. The school's first section was all the classrooms, auditorium, and cafeteria. The second section was built about ten years later, adding the two gyms and locker rooms. In January 1999, the school name was.s changed to Dodge Intermediate School as a result of the new High School opening and R. B. Chamberlin transitioning to the Middle School.

  • Houses all district Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grades with approximately 900 students in total
  • Provides all Special Education services for identified children
  • Maintains strong Parent-Teacher relationships
  • Includes D.A.R.E. instruction to be a drug-free school

  • Provides on-site technology support and education for staff and students
  • Utilizes cross-curriculum instruction, Project Based Learning, and Blended Learning

Mission

Our Mission is to create a safe learning community in which the students feel a sense of pride and support to reach high levels of academic achievement assessed by state standardized testing. We will foster a caring atmosphere in which parents, teachers, administrators, and students develop relationships to be productive and positive to achieve the curriculum goals as defined by the state of Ohio. We will maintain high expectations and strive to meet the unique needs of all learners through the application and integration of state standards with ALL curricular areas with added support through interventions.
