Summer 2024 SUN Bucks (Grocery Benefit Program)

sun bucks summer ebt program

Beginning this summer, Ohioans can participate in a new federal permanent program called the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (Summer EBT), also known as SUN Bucks. This program provides cash grocery benefits to households with children who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The Summer EBT program provides children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. Each eligible child will receive a one-time $120 benefit for the summer.

All students who qualify for free or reduced price breakfasts and lunches through the Federal Meal Program qualify for this benefit. It is not too late to apply for this benefit for your child as households can apply for free or reduced-price meals at any time during the school year and this year’s application has the added Summer EBT benefit.

For information about how to apply for free or reduced price meals, please contact our District Dietician/Food Services Supervisor Mark Bindus at [email protected].

For more information about SUN Bucks, please contact the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Office of Nutrition 614-466-
