Change to COVID-29 Guidelines (April 2024)

We received communication that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has adopted streamlined recommendations for dealing with common respiratory viral illnesses, including COVID-19.  As a part of this guidance, CDC and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) continue to recommend core  prevention strategies such as staying up to date on vaccinations, practicing good hygiene, taking steps for cleaner air, and staying home when sick.

As a school district, we have relied on the recommendations from the Summit County Public Health Department along with the CDC in matters regarding COVID-19. Based upon recent guidance, our District will now adhere to the following guidelines for students and staff members who test positive for COVID-19:

Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 should remain at home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and are feeling better. A mask should be worn for five (5) days after testing positive.
