Dodge Student Earns First Place in Poetry Contest

George G. Dodge Intermediate School is proud to celebrate the achievement of 6th grader Evelyn Miller, who earned First Place in the 6th–8th grade division of a poetry contest sponsored by the National Writing Project, and Kent State University.

The contest theme, “Write Where You Are,” invited students to reflect creatively through poetry. Evelyn’s winning piece, titled “Floating Notes,” competed against submissions from students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades.

We are incredibly proud of Evelyn for this outstanding accomplishment and commend all of the students who participated in the contest and represented Dodge Middle School so well.

Congratulations, Evelyn!

Students Take the Win in Annual Staff vs. Students Flag Football Game

George G. Dodge Intermediate School’s Annual Staff vs. Students Flag Football Game was one for the books! Students earned their attendance through strong grades, positive behavior, and hard work throughout the second half of the school year, and they brought that same energy to the field!

With our “Superheroes vs. Villains" theme setting the stage, the game was filled with excitement, school spirit, and even a special appearance from Spider-Man! After an intense matchup that went into overtime, the students ultimately took home the trophy and bragging rights for the year!

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for making the event unforgettable by providing the DJ, decorations, and prizes. Your support created an incredible experience for our students and staff alike!

Future Ready Tigers Explore Career Pathways

It was a beautiful and inspiring day for a select group of R. B. Chamberlin Middle schoolers! Dominique Sanders (Dean of Students), Kathleen Yates (Career Explorations Teacher), and Toni Cluse (Career Specialist) accompanied a group of standout 8th grade students to the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm for an exclusive Middle School Career Fair.

This unique opportunity was strictly limited to our top "Aware & Ready" students. These individuals have shown incredible initiative all year long, participating in numerous career development activities and voluntarily signing up for career cluster events outside of their regular Career Explorations coursework.

While exploring the beautiful park, students visited interactive stations representing a wide array of career paths, including Education, Conservation, Facility & Grounds Maintenance/Planning, Finance, Marketing, and Law Enforcement. They got a firsthand look at how a love for nature and community can translate into diverse, rewarding professional careers, from managing natural resources to balancing the park's budgets.

We extend a huge thank-you to the Friends of Summit Metro Parks, who generously funded transportation for this trip, and to the park staff for providing a wonderful lunch for our students. Our "Aware & Ready" Tigers represented Twinsburg with curiosity, proving that the future of our workforce is in excellent hands!
