New Leadership Selected for Twinsburg High School
The Twinsburg City School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Emily Williamson-Hunt as the new Principal and Michelle Lowden as the new Assistant Principal of Twinsburg High School during the regular Board meeting on May 17, 2023.
 
“I am pleased to recommend Mrs. Emily Williamson-Hunt to our Twinsburg Board of Education as the next Principal at Twinsburg High School.  In her time at THS working as one of our Assistant Principals, Mrs. Williamson-Hunt has exhibited strong leadership skills, a team-centered approach, and a passion for supporting our students and their families.  Mrs. Williamson-Hunt works to ensure academic achievement for our high school students.  She is a collaborative leader who fosters inclusivity and belonging. We look forward to Mrs. Williamson-Hunt building upon the excellence of Twinsburg High School and moving the school forward with much success,” said Superintendent Kathryn Powers.

Mrs. Williamson-Hunt served as an Assistant Principal at Twinsburg High School for the past three years. She was previously employed by the Euclid City School District as a Dean of Students.  Prior to assuming that role, Mrs. Williamson-Hunt served as an English teacher (grades 8-12), Team Leader, and Department Chair.

“I am both humbled and excited for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and community as the principal of Twinsburg High School,” said Mrs. Williamson-Hunt.  “In the last three years as an Assistant Principal, everyone has been so welcoming, collaborative, and instrumental in my growth as an educator, person, and administrator. This is an amazing calling that I look forward to fulfilling together, at Twinsburg High School, ‘where the schools and communities are one’.”

 Mrs. Williamson-Hunt received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Case Western Reserve University and her Master’s Degree from Ashland University in Educational Administration. Mrs. Williamson-Hunt and her husband June have six (6) children and eleven (11) grandchildren.

“Ms. Michelle Lowden will join the Administrative Team at Twinsburg High School as an Assistant Principal, replacing Mrs. Williamson-Hunt,” said Superintendent Kathryn Powers. “Ms. Lowden has been a valuable member of our District Administrative Leadership Team for many years, in addition to her experience as a Science teacher at RB Chamberlin Middle School.  Ms. Lowden works to foster positive relationships with students, their families, and our staff members. She will be a wonderful addition to our Twinsburg High School family.”

“I look forward to joining the leadership team at Twinsburg High School,” said Ms. Lowden. “With this new opportunity, I am excited to support our students in grades 9-12, work with the staff members at THS, and continue to partner with parents and community members of Twinsburg.”

Ms. Lowden spent the first eleven years of her career teaching at Field Junior High School with the Field Local School District where she also coached Girls’ JV Basketball, Track, and Volleyball.  She then joined the Twinsburg City School District serving as Assistant Principal at George G. Dodge Intermediate School for ten years and then as a 7th Grade Science teacher for six years, an Administrative Intern for two years and then as Assistant Principal for two years at RB Chamberlin Middle School.

Ms. Lowden received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Kent State University and her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Ashland University.  Ms. Lowden was raised on a multi-generational farm where she still enjoys working with her family. She is the mother of five (5) children and has one (1) grandson.

Mrs. Williamson-Hunt begins her tenure as the new high school. Principal and Ms. Lowden begins her tenure as the new high school Assistant Principal on August 1, 2023. Mrs. Williamson-Hunt replaces Brian Linn who served in the position for the past two years. Linn was recently named Principal at Mayfield High School.
