TCSD Observes Patriot Day
Friday, September 11th, 2020 marks the 19 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93 which crashed in suburban Pennsylvania. Patriot Day serves as a remembrance of the lives lost on that September morning. By a joint resolution approved 12/18/2001, (Public Law 107-89) designated September 11th of each year as "Patriot Day" which also directs the American flags be lowered to half-staff for the entire day on September 11th.

Additionally, Twinsburg High School senior Nate Wagner will honor the memory of the lives lost on September 11, 2001, in a tradition he started as a sophomore in 2018.

Nate will place 2,977 American flags outside of Twinsburg High School on Thursday, September 10, 2020, starting at 3:30 p.m. to mark the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack. They will remain up until Saturday, September 12, 2020. Each flag, provided by VFW Post 4929, represents a life lost in the September 11th terrorist attacks.  Nate, who originally started the memorial in 2018 as a service project as part of his involvement with the organization, Young Americans for Freedom, continued to honor the memory of the lives lost on 9/11 during his junior year in 2019. This will mark his third year completing the service project.  We are Tiger Proud of Nate’s patriotism.
