At Wilcox Primary School, Mrs. Knisely's and Ms. Lipnos' classes started off their Force and Motion Unit by making pumpkin catapults. The students worked in teams to try and knock down stacked cups with their catapults and candy pumpkins.
They learned about force and motion as they had to adjust their catapults to hit the targets. The students also watched videos about the real Pumpkin Chunkin contest held every year in Delaware. The children will be learning further about force, motion, friction, push, pull and gravity in this unit.
