Action Alert
On Wednesday, November 28th, the Twinsburg Board of Education passed Resolution 18 - 482 which supports the extension of graduation options to the classes of 2019, 2020, and 2021.  As mentioned by Superintendent Kathi Powers during the last two (2) Board of Education Meetings, it is imperative that the General Assembly take expeditious action regarding the Graduation Requirements for the Classes of 2019 as well as the classes of 2020 and 2021.

Currently, the options that were available for the Class of 2018 were not extended to the Classes of 2019, 2020 and 2021.  Some of the options extended to students who struggled in earning the required 18 points on the end-of-course exams included earning three of more College Credit Plus credits at any time during high school and earning credit for an Advanced Placement course for a score of 3 or higher.

The State Board of Education recently recommended the General Assembly extend the options to the Classes of 2019 and 2020.  However, the General Assembly has not taken action and at this point, the Class of 2019 is required to earn 18 out of the 35 points necessary on seven end-of-course exams.

The Twinsburg City School District is hopeful that a resolution is soon reached that will address the needs of Ohio students who are struggling to earn the required 18 points on the end –of-course exams.  See the attached letter which was sent to legislators by the Twinsburg Board of Education and Superintendent Powers along with aforementioned Board of Education Resolution.

It is important for our legislators to hear from our community members.  To that end, please consider contacting our legislators to voice your concerns regarding this important matter.  Your support of our efforts to address the graduation requirements would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you for your consideration and continued support of our students.
