Secretary’s Report:  Meeting minutes from September 18, 2017 were sent via email to the Band Booster Board and attendees by Cassandra Blyler. Lisa Durbin submitted corrections for spelling errors. The minutes from the June 2017 and August 2017 booster meetings have been uploaded onto the website by Cassie. No further corrections submitted, the minutes from the September 2017 meeting will be submitted to Cassie for uploading.

President’s Remarks:  None at this time.

Directors Report:

Mr Resnick: Report given by Mr Bonitz. Dodge 5th Grade Band students are working on beginning concepts of instrumental music performance. RBC Concert Band is preparing for upcoming performances; 11/10 Veteran's Day and the 12/11 Holiday Concert. RBC 8th Graders will be fitted for uniforms sometime during the week of 12/11 (per scheduling by Mr. Bonitz). RBC Jazz Ensemble has started and rehearses Wednesdays after school. They will also perform on the 12/11 concert.

Mr Bonitz: The marching band season is starting to wrap up. The report time for the Thursday’s homecoming parade is 5:00pm, step off scheduled for 5:30. Expected to be finished by 6:30 as there is a soccer game starting at 7:00pm. The jazz band and the lab band have started practicing and will be performing at the upcoming concerts. The November 2nd concert is a great opportunity for community who may not have been able to attend a football game to see the band perform in an environment controlled setting.

Band Council Report:  Report given by Jaina Gedeon. Breast cancer awareness has been going on; over 150 ribbons were made for the band to wear. There is a collection jar in the band room for students to donate. So far, roughly $50 has been collected, the council is hoping for more. Wadsworth was the last away game of the season, the band did well.

Committee Reports:

Treasurer’s report: Report given by Karen Wilson. The September 1-30th bank account summary and profit and loss statement was printed and distributed to meeting attendees. The Tigerette entry was written in due to a computer glitch. The net income stands at $10,616.10 after $8,598.84 in expenses for the month of September. Jack inquired about a letter from the Treasurer stating that  instruments have been purchased and gifted to the school district. Karen will gather information and forward to the school district.

Concessions: Report given by Cindy Rapkin. The Wednesday and Thursday soccer games still need volunteers for the concession stands. Cindy and Kristi will be shopping for supplies on Tuesday of this week. Karen mentioned that she has not seen a bill for the pretzels. Invoices are delivered with the pretzels; Karen will locate and pay the bill this week.

Volunteers: Absent, no report.

Fundraising: Report given by Christine Martin. There were not a lot of Krispy Kreme preorders, only about 17 dozen. 80 dozen donuts were ordered for sale at the stands. Christine and Colleen are looking for dates for the Amore fundraiser, as the originally scheduled date conflicts with the school play. Feb 3 2018 is a possible date. A back up date is also being considered, but due to school conflicts, the event would have to be off site. Tiger cards and Gionino cards are still being sold through the stands.

Publicist: Report given by Cassie Via. There should be an article about the band in this week’s newspaper. Cassie will be working on Thursday during the parade, hoping that Lily Horvath will be able to take pictures. Social media has been updated with the upcoming concert dates.

Uniform Report: Report given by Michelle Reed. Marching band uniforms can be turned in after November 2nd Showcase. Fittings for the concert band uniforms will be held during the week of November 13-17th. She will have a document for maintenance fees in place. Dwight will be coming to measure the 8th graders soon. Currently there are 150 marching uniforms, 150 hats with boxes and 141 storm coats. Storage for new uniforms is a concern. Mr Bonitz and Michelle will work together to discuss with the school the storage needs going forward.  Concert wear is okay for 2017/18. The Boosters may need to consider additional purchases for 2018/19. If there is a need for a male drill team uniform, that needs to be ordered by May of 2018. The uniform committee will begin looking into a new majorette uniform for the 2018/19.

Spirit Wear Report: Report given by Carie Ketz. The Spirit wear sale is going well. Suzie and Karen were very helpful in picking up items while Carie was out of town. Prices are being compared for Christmas spirit item sales. After the Christmas sale, we will begin looking at what items to sell for next year, including any t-shirt style changes. One possibility is a band concert style shirt with all the band performance dates listed.

Old Business: None stated.

New Business: Per Suzie Bird, McDonalds has asked for band items for the showcase they have in their newly remodeled location. Cassie took two band pillows and a plume in to be displayed.

Adjourn: Call for a motion to adjourn was made by Jack Rapkin. Motion to accept by Colleen Larson, 2nd by Karen Wilson. The meeting was adjourned at 7:54pm.
