The Preschool Winter Make-It-Take-It party will be on Friday, February 21, 2012. At the party, we will play some games, make a craft, and eat cookies.
The A.M. party will start at 10:00, the P.M. party at 1:45.
The children may bring in small goodies to put in goodie bags. We will be making the snowman goodie bags at school. At this time there are eight children in the morning and fifteen in the afternoon who will be participating in the parties.
Once again, the new school wide party policy will be in effect for the Winter Party. We will be limited to a predetermined number of guests and only those on the list will be allowed at the party. The front office will be checking the guest list and only allowing the parents on the list to attend the party. Once again, thank you for your cooperation with this new school policy as we strive to maintain safety for all students at Wilcox.

*Please make sure to fill out a bus transportation form. These forms may be picked up in the school office or they may be found online on the school website. Also, if your child is over the age of four but fewer than forty pounds and still needs to be in a harness, please indicate this on the transportation form. This will allow us to arrange for appropriate bus transportation. Please fill out the transportation form even if you are planning on providing your own transportation.
Your child will not be scheduled to ride the bus until a transportation form is completed and turned into the school office.*

Part of our preschool curriculum involves developing your child's fine motor skills and instilling confidence through encouraging independence. In order to achieve these skills we ask your child to try to snap, zip or button the various pieces of clothing they may wear to school each day. While we are always nearby to lend a hand, we encourage them to dress themselves should they need to change clothing. We also ask them to pack their own bookbag with their notebook and daily papers. So, should your child come home with crinkled papers or a shirt or sock on backwards, please know your child accomplished this task without assistance and use this as an opportunity to praise him for a job well done!

You may notice the sharing bag in your child's bookbag. Your child may bring anything he or she desires to show to his/her classmates. We use this as an opportunity to build your preschooler's language skills.
Throughout the year I assemble class books from our units of study and send them home with the children to share. Please enjoy them and use this opportunity to encourage language skills. |
