Dodge Pajama Drive was.. |
a great success. THANK YOU!!! "The Polar Bear Cub has recently finished "The Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive"! Students of the Polar Bear Cub created signs, wrote and made announcements, and collected, sorted, and packed donations. The generous students, staff, and families of Dodge donated a grand total of 245 pairs of pajamas and $90 in monetary donations! The donations were delivered to a local Pajama Program coordinator Wednesday 12/19. Pajamas will then be delivered to children in need next week! Thanks to everyone who donated and worked to give the gift of a wonderful night's sleep!" |

Great Bedtime Pajama Program at Dodge... |
Hello!
The students of the Polar Bear Cub are sponsoring a school-wide Pajama Drive from Dec 1-14. Students are invited to bring in a pair of new pajamas to be donated to a child in need. Most pajamas are given to children in orphanages, foster care, group homes or shelters. The main sponsor of this drive is Pajama Program, but Scholastic Books is also a partner. Scholastic will match our generosity by donating a book for every pair of pajamas donated so that each child will get a pair of PJs and book to help make for a wonderful bedtime. We are also accepting monetary donations. Thank you as always for your generosity!

Dodge 5th grade had an exciting visitor... |
On Wednesday, December 5, the entire 5th grade class was able to take part in a "FUR TRADER" presentation right here at Dodge. Mr. Bernie Smith visited our school and shared his expertise and artifacts to share about the Ohio Fur Trade of the 1830's. Students were encouraged to handle the artifacts and even wear some of the animal skin hats. This tied in with the novel The Sign of the Beaver that the 5th grade class is currently working on in their Language Arts classes. What a great experience for the students to see the book come to life! |

Get Ready for the next Spirit Week at Dodge |
Our next spirit week, "Lazy Days of December" will take place Dec 3-7 for $1.00 for the week. All proceeds will benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Olivia DePoire (THS freshman this year) is the Honored Hero this year so we will be doing this in her honor. Stay tuned more information will come closer to the date as to what the dress days will be for that week  |

Dodge Celebrates Veterans Day... |
November 9, 2012 Dodge celebrated Veterans Day - The whole school gathered in the library where Mr. Rowbotham started the pledge and then handed the microphone to Olivia Sharp, a fifth grade student in Mrs. Fosnights class, to sing "God Bless America". The three students in the picture, Kevin Boozer, Makenzie Hartman and Angela Defabio helped construct our Veterans Wall. Each brick is dedicated to a veteran.

Get Fit at Dodge... |
|  | We are excited that Dodge Intermediate School is participating in the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge, hosted by Radio Disney this year! The purpose of the School Challenge is to educate and motivate students and their families in Ohio to exercise regularly and lead healthy, active lifestyles. Good health habits begin and end at home, and we need your help to win!
The School Challenge consists of students exercising for a minimum of 20 minutes a day between October 1 to November 24, and they must report back to their teachers to tally the activity for our school. In the end, the top 20 schools with the highest percentage of children participating in the Anthem Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge will win a Radio Disney Dance Party at their school. The idea is to make exercising easy and fun. It can be anything from walking the dog, jumping rope, taking a walk with your family, riding a bike, etc.--get creative! |

PLEASE NOTE WHEN PAYING FEES:
Year book fee is to join the Yearbook Club,
this fee is NOT to purchase a yearbook.
Yearbooks will be sold in the spring with
a base price of $17.00 and goes up depending
on preferences. Applications will be handed out
for Yearbook Club on 9/10 & 9/11. The applications
are due by 9/13. Staff acceptance is
based on teacher recommendations, essay answers,
fee payment and returned on time. Acceptance letters
will be sent out on 9/21. Fee for yearbook club will be
