SLP Responsibilities
- Hearing screening of third graders
- Communication evaluations
- Participation in Intervention Assistance Team Meetings (IAT)
- Multifactored Team Meetings (MFE)
- Develop Individualized Educational Plans (IEP)
- Consultation with teachers, parents, outside agencies
- Kindergarten screening
- Intervention - Speech/language instruction for identified second and third grade students.
Speech students are seen individually or in small groups, and have a wide range of needs including:
Articulation skills
Phonological awareness
Receptive and expressive language skills
Social language and pragmatic speech skills
Auditory discrimination and listening skills
Auditory processing and memory skills
Speech fluency/stuttering
Voice skills
- Working in the Response to Intervention Model (RTI)
