SLP Responsibilities

  • Hearing screening of third graders
  • Communication evaluations
  • Participation in Intervention Assistance Team Meetings (IAT)
  • Multifactored Team Meetings (MFE)
  • Develop Individualized Educational Plans (IEP)
  • Consultation with teachers, parents, outside agencies
  • Kindergarten screening
  • Intervention - Speech/language instruction for identified second and third grade students.
      Speech students are seen individually or in small groups, and have a wide range of needs including:
      Articulation skills
      Phonological awareness
      Receptive and expressive language skills
      Social language and pragmatic speech skills
      Auditory discrimination and listening skills
      Auditory processing and memory skills
      Speech fluency/stuttering
      Voice skills
  • Working in the Response to Intervention Model (RTI)
