Typical School Day

Typical School Day

One of the major selling points for students is the fact that their normal day does not require much change. This allows students to still be with friends and attend school functions like all other students. As they progress through the program there may be opportunities for shadowing or internships that will be off campus, which may conflict with school offerings. One change to the school day is that once a month, students will attend a meeting with school personnel in the Introduction to Business course to discuss various business related topics.

Each pathway has identified courses that are suggested to help students find a path that is specific to the needs of the career. These courses were identified by school staff with input from our business and organizational partners. These are again suggested not required courses. There is a required course that was determined to be important to all pathways. That course is the Introduction to Business course where students will learn the basics of modern business. Again, the input from partners helped drive the need for this class for freshmen in the program. In the sophomore year there will be a course in communications. Our partners told us that reading and writing in business is vital and also the ability to communicate effectively with others. In that same realm it is felt that the ability to work and communicate effectively in groups is another skill students will need to be successful in various aspects of life after high school. The communications course will address these needs.
