Coach Girardi

Baseball is simply a game. When the focus becomes something else...(pleasing a parent, scholarship, etc), performance is reduced and the fun is stolen. Encourage your son/daughter to support their teammates, listen to their coaches and play with 100% focus to help the team win.

From The Ohio State Buckeyes...
A FEW MOMENTS WITH CAPTAIN WASHINGTON (Twinsburg 2014)
Jalen Washington ready to make the most out of his senior season at shortstop

There might not be another college baseball player in the country quite like Jalen Washington. A middle infielder from Twinsburg, Ohio, Washington became the Buckeyes’ starting catcher in 2016 and made 59 starts from behind the dish. Having never caught a college game before his junior year, he guided the Buckeye pitching staff to a school-record 495 strikeouts and caught a remarkable 44.0 innings in a four-day span to help Ohio State to a Big Ten tournament title. He wasn’t your typical catcher. Washington threw out a Big Ten-best 17 runners, while stealing 14 bags of his own. Now, in 2017, the international business major was voted again by his teammates as captain,
and this time, he is ready to make the most out of his senior season back where his career started at shortstop.  Link to the rest of the article...here

OHSAA to implement pitch counts

"The new OHSAA pitch count regulation calls for a maximum of 125 pitches permitted in a day, and contains several other details such as the number of days required between pitching appearances based on the number of pitches thrown. The regulation approved Thursday (1/19/17) replaces OHSAA baseball regulation 1.7, which was approved last year and indicated that details for the pitch count regulation would be finalized in January."
